In 1957 it all started in a small department store in Toronto. Sam Tick starts the Metro Sportswear LTD brand there. The outdoor clothing had to ensure that people stayed warm in the extremely cold weather conditions in Canada.
A few years later, son-in-law David Reiss joins the company. He invented a down filling machine, which resulted in the label 'Snow Goose'. This name was later changed to the name we know today; canada goose.
The brand gets extra fame when Mount Everest is successfully climbed for the first time by a Canadian in 1982. Mountaineer Laurie Skreslet wears a specially designed Canada Goose parka during his climb.
In 1990 Dani Reiss, David's son, joins and drives the company's growth, which is why we know the brand as it is today.
